Covid-19 Protocols

As our community opens back up and vaccines are available to younger children, masking will be optional inside and outside. For now, drop off and pick up will happen outside but parents are allowed into the classrooms as needed. We ask that you keep your time in the classroom brief.

Other safety measures we will continue are hand sanitizing upon drop off, open windows and the use of HEPA filters in each classroom, and eating outside when possible. If the risk level switches to high in our county, we will require staff and students to mask inside during that time.

Our exclusion policies for Covid are as follows:

  • A child or staff member, regardless of vaccination status, should stay at home if they have primary symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, chills, fatigue, nasal congestion, runny nose, headache, muscle aches, shortness of breath, sore throat, new cough, or new loss of taste or smell), or go home if symptoms develop while at school, and get tested.

  • If someone in your child's household tests positive for Covid, the child will need to stay home from school for 5 days and will require a negative test to return.

  • If your child tests positive for Covid they will need to stay home for 10 days from first symptoms or positive test and will require a negative test to return.

  • If there has been an exposure in class we will notify families, the person with Covid will need to isolate, and teachers and students in that class will be required to wear masks for 5 days following the exposure.

We encourage you to vaccinate your children and ask that you please do not send them if they show any signs of illness. The latest recommendations/guidelines we received from the Early Learning Division can be found here: https://oregonearlylearning.com/COVID-19-Resources
